Reporting to a board of eight Directors, you will promote integrity and racing excellence, ensure animal welfare is upheld at the highest possible standard and maintain effective financial management; corporate governance and regulatory compliance. You will identify productive and collaborative working relationships with various stakeholders and maintain them for the benefit of both parties. Key stakeholders will include (but not be limited to) Greyhound Racing Victoria (the governing body), Animal Welfare, other Clubs, Greyhound owners and trainers, Tabcorp, local and state government and various media. You will prepare and deliver (in liaison with the board) the Strategic Plan and the Business Plan and you will maintain control of the liquor and gambling licence and the annual racing clubs licence. You will oversee the preparation of the annual racing program and various projects that seek to increase financial sustainability. Furthermore, you will ensure a safe and motivated organisational culture is maintained and that all staff (both permanent and casual) are suitably qualified, appropriately trained and comply with expectations including RSA and animal welfare.
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, MGRA are seeking an entrepreneurial and strategic executive business leader who (ideally) has a background working in the sporting or racing arena and who has a genuine commitment to and interest in greyhound racing. You will have highly developed stakeholder engagement skills and success in retaining productive and collaborative relationships. You will have proven capabilities in business management including financial monitoring/budgeting and good governance. Furthermore you be adept at fostering an organisation culture of collaboration and cooperation, high performance and outstanding customer service.
Races are held every Wednesday and Saturday evening and it is expected that the CEO attends these events in the first instance and then works closely with their executive team to ensure coverage is maintained.
An Executive level remuneration package is offered which includes a car allowance.
