Reporting to the Group Manager - CEO’s Office, the Communications and Media Manager will play an instrumental role in the organisation by enhancing and protecting the organisations public image through a range of measures and strategies. Furthermore, the Manager will provide proactive, high-level updates to the CEO and Executive Leadership team on all media / communication issues. Concurrently, the Manager will provide frank and trustworthy advice on how these should be managed e.g. through the use of media liaison, publications, internet/intranet, social media content or speeches. Supported by a highly efficient team, the Manager will strategically oversee the planning and implementation of proactive integrated marketing communications and engagement plans which utilise a range of mediums including, but not limited to, advertising, public relations, publications, digital and social media, media relations, events, consultation and engagement. A strong and inspirational leader, the Manager will work with the team to ensure high performance and high levels of customer service are maintained in a cohesive and collaborative function.
Tertiary qualifications in public relations, communications, journalism or similar, coupled with demonstrated experience providing high level advice to a CEO and Executive team on issues management and media relations is required. Additionally, management experience in corporate communications from either state or local government or a statutory authority, is expected. You will be highly regarded for your ability to engage with all levels of an organisation and to develop integrated communication strategies that deliver alignment between political and operational objectives. You will be methodical and able to work in an issues rich environment with a proven ability to empower your team.
