Metropolitan Operations is a new division of VicRoads that delivers services to Victoria’s Metropolitan areas and provides for a better planned, maintained and integrated road and transport network. Metropolitan Operations will focus on addressing urban congestion, engaging with community and stakeholders to understand their needs and operating, maintaining and improving the metropolitan road network as part of an integrated transport network.
Reporting to the Chief Metropolitan Roads Officer, the Director Metro Central will be critical to the creation and implementation of the Metropolitan Operations division and deliver on its transformational agenda for Victoria’s Metropolitan transport network. Leading engagement with key stakeholders, the role will ensure the delivery of road improvements, maintenance work and road safety projects, improve the road network and connect people as part of an integrated transport system. Providing strategic leadership the role will ensure the diverse workforce is empowered to deliver on the significant program of work whilst minimising disruption to the community.
To be considered for this role, you bring proven experience leading and directing the development and delivery of strategies, programs, projects and initiatives to deliver improved benefit to the community. You have led diverse teams across all aspects of the design, development and delivery of a range of projects and have a thorough understanding of procurement, financial management, contracts and the relationship between planning, design, construction and operations. You possess an engaging interpersonal style, the ability to build strong rapport and a commitment to enhancing relationships with the community to understand and advocate for their needs to government and other key stakeholders.
