Victoria has embarked on a once in a generation transformation of Victoria’s roads to sustain growth in our population and economy, to meet the aspirations of Victorians for an integrated transport network. With a million more people set to call Victoria home in the next 10 years, the work of VicRoads in meeting the demands of population growth and successfully connecting communities will be vital to ensuring the liveability of Victoria. Roads touch everyone’s lives, every day. They are vital to the movement of freight that helps Victoria’s economy thrive. They play a key role in jobs growth, productivity, economic development and community connectedness.
Metropolitan Operations is a new division of VicRoads that delivers services to Victoria’s Metropolitan areas and provides for a better planned, maintained and integrated road and transport network. Metropolitan Operations will focus on addressing urban congestion, engaging with community and stakeholders to understand their needs and operating, maintaining and improving the metropolitan road network as part of an integrated transport network.
Reporting to the Chief Executive of VicRoads and a key member of the VicRoads Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Metropolitan Roads Officer will be critical to the creation and implementation of the Metropolitan Operations division and deliver on its transformational agenda for Victoria’s Metropolitan transport network.
As an experienced transformational leader, you bring a proven background leading large, complex and diverse teams intersecting with both the public and private sectors. With a customer centric approach, you have an appreciation of transport integration to deliver improved customer experience and stakeholder satisfaction. Experience in infrastructure delivery and understanding of asset management principles is a key strength and you are highly regarded for your exceptional communication and presentation skills having held media facing roles. Passionate about achieving outcomes through people, you are an authentic leader who is energised by the opportunity to play a critical role in the future liveability of Victoria.
