Governance and Risk Manager

This local council is unique in its location hosting world heritage scenery. They are well known and a highly popular tourist destination all year round, currently serving a population just above 80,000 people. Being part of this team will present exciting opportunities for both personal and professional development.

The Role
Your role will primarily focus on managing risk and governance to deliver leadership outcomes in line with the council’s annual, four year and 2025 plan. This includes Enterprise Risk Management, WH&S, governance, compliance and risk programs. Additional responsibilities include:
  • Develop and implement the ERM strategy across council to ensure business risks are identified and properly managed
  • Develop and oversee the internal Audit function to promote continuous improvement
  • Lead and manage the governance and risk team in the delivery of all governance and risk activities
  • Provide expert policy, planning and operational advice to the Group Manager
What we are looking for
To be successful in this role you will need to show proven experience in implementation of new ERM frameworks in or to a NSW government agency, preferably in combination with PL insurance knowledge.
