Job Description

Based in the geographical centre of Sydney, this global player in the maintenance services and value engineering sector, is going through various internal restructures, as well as organic growth and change.
They have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, pro-active and IR focused Human Resources Business Partner to join their business, located in Homebush.

The role of the HR Business Partner is to support the delivery of the people agenda across their respective client groups. A strong employee relations background is essential as the Operational Department is a blue and white collar environment and the center of any industrial issues.

Key responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic HR business partnering by implementing solutions to business strategy
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to line managers in all Employee Relations matters (such as grievance, disciplinary)
  • Negotiating EBA’s and Agreement and liasing with union delegates
  • Collate, prepare and analyse HR metrics, organisational charts and headcount reporting
  • Support the delivery of the annual HR functional milestones including performance management process, employee reward process for salaried and non-salaried employees, employee engagement survey, budget and workforce planning cycle, code of conduct, talent and succession planning
  • Champion employee engagement and assist with the deployment of relevant programs and initiatives that build effective leadership capability
  • Manage all employee life cycle activities including employee internal movements, separations and changes to employment terms and conditions as well as the maintenance of employee personnel files
  • Deliver robust resourcing plan for client groups within agreed resourcing model, including leading the recruitment strategy and including employee onboarding
  • Proactively work with client groups to ensure all employees are compliant with code of conduct training and any other mandatory developmental training
  • Take ownership and lead on key HR projects on an adhoc basis
Desirable/Preferred Skills
  • Tertiary level or equivalent experience in Human Resources
  • Sound understanding of employment practices and regulations
  • Ability and willingness to adapt, quickly learn and put to use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing structure, process, information and/or technology
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to formulate multiple recommendations for solution and collaborate with clients to tailor a fit for purpose solution
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a matrix organisation
  • Microsoft Office and familiarity with SAP would be considered advantageous
