A company that have been established for more than 10 years currently undergoing some rapid expansion as the software and hardware solutions they build are really taking off. They deploy solutions to a global client base that includes multiple global mining organizations both locally and overseas. They have a strong balance sheet and they are well funded by a major investment bank which is helping them undertake this next phase of growth.
Less than 50 in the company currently.They are looking for a leader that can grow the I.T team from 10 to 20 over the next 12 months or so.
About the Role
This is a newly created role which is a key hire for the business. Reporting into the Head of R&D this role is the most Senior IT role in the business and it's remit covers many areas to include - leadership and the ability to grow and develop the team, technology -you will be a real technologist at heart and you will be across new and emerging technologies that will keep the company ahead of the game and allow them to continue to innovate and build great products for their customers. You won't be cutting code but you will be a "hands on technical leader" who is there to support the team and set standards and a robust technology roadmap.
Software Engineering background - They use a number of languages C, C++, Java , Embedded Systems development, RoR and JS frameworks. They team also have embedded software engineers who support the sensors
they build in-house
Hardware - Sensors / Low Power systems
They are really interested in the world of IoT and how they can use that to refine their products.
AWS skills as they move more and more into the cloud
Understand of new and emerging technology.
This role is more of a scale up role rather than a start up. The products are great and they have solid backing for growth. You need to wear a number of hats as the company is small and are growing and any experience of scaling up teams in the past will be valuable.They are an Australian business and they have real passion for what they do. This is a great time to join them in this exciting phase.
