As the irrigation powerhouse of Australia, the Goulburn Murray Irrigation District (GMID) in northern Victoria is on the verge of a new era in delivering high quality produce to the Country, and the rest of the world. Goulburn Murray Water (GMW) has a proud history of being at the centre of ensuring that water services, prices and products, support the world’s best farmers to prosper. With an array of such opportunity comes the challenge to ensure GMW continues to be fit-for-purpose, and future ready. We are looking for the right leader to reshape the organisation to ensure the next 100 years of regional prosperity in the GMID.

As Managing Director reporting to a highly engaged and supportive board, you will be excited by the opportunity to implement an endorsed transformation program that will ensure the affordability of water in the region and a sustainable GMW into the future. Regarded as a visionary and authentic leader, you have a proven record for building a team of empowered staff, providing them with clarity, accountability and the authority to deliver. With a thorough understanding of working in a regulated environment, you also have an understanding and appreciation for communities and are passionate about making a difference to regional areas.

You will demonstrate significant experience leading cultural and organisational change in large and complex service delivery organisations with a proven commitment to customer service. As a values driven leader, you will be known for your collaborative approach and genuine commitment to developing staff and building a positive and creative working environment.
You bring a results-focused approach, including driving accountability throughout the organisation, together with the ability to identify and act on opportunities to improve short and long-term organisational performance. With an appreciation of the public sector you are excited by the opportunity to proactively engage with a diverse and broad range of stakeholders to create a long lasting positive impact for the region.
