Metro is important to the lives of millions of people. Their employees connect and interact with passengers from diverse corners of the community on a daily basis and have an impact on more than 400,000 lives every day.
These newly created positions will lead a team of Signallers to professionalise Signalling to improve overall timetable performance for the people of Melbourne.
Reporting directly into the Head of Network Signallers, you will have up to 40 direct reports and manage up to 6 depots at a time.
This is very much a leadership role so you will need to have exceptional communication skills (written and oral), strong workforce planning and people skills in an operational and ever changing environment.
Your background will see you having dealt with a large workforce which is spread across multiple sites and/or areas with a diverse group of individuals where in same cases may be adverse to change.
We are looking to identify individuals with strong influencing skills, a resilient nature and great people management experience. We would be interested to see candidates from a rail background ideally, however applications from other industries such as aviation or mining would be
