Job Description

Our client is an organisation that operates at the national level. They provide quality advice on industry related topics in the form of cabinet submissions and briefs to key stakeholders in the government at a state and federal level. Their vision is to enhance prosperity of the community through people. The organisation has key core values; team work, respect, accountability, integrity, trust and safety, which they instil into their employees and partners.

Reporting to the Project Director Reform Maintenance, this role will provide a high level of support to the Directors and Senior Leaders at this organisation across multiple projects. This support will include engagement with senior stakeholders and national policy associations on policy and legislation reforms and providing advice and executive support for the development and implementation of policy.

In this role, you will drive legislative development and policy projects in regards to safety, regulatory efficiency and reducing the environmental impact. As a senior resource within this industry you may also assist with the development, implementation and monitoring of other projects in the client’s work program. You will be responsible for leading and assisting with law reform maintenance projects across different facets that this organisation specialises in.

Whilst a Manager level role, there are no staff responsibilities, enabling you to focus your attention on your strategic impact. You may be involved in mentoring and/or developing staff to deliver quality and timely outcomes.

You will bring to this role a reputation for being able to clearly explain the intent/rationale for policy positions to diverse stakeholders and be well respected for your stakeholder engagement skills. You have a track record of successfully managing multiple projects and providing leadership to staff to ensure delivery is achieved. With a strategic mind, you can identify creative solutions to complex problems and have the interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse range of people. Being qualified with a Law degree and a strong understanding of the system of Government would also be desirable for this opportunity.
