About the Role
As the Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll play a key role in shaping the finance function during a time of exciting evolution.
Working closely with the GM – Finance, you’ll be a trusted right hand — overseeing financial operations, leading process improvements, and supporting the successful rollout of a new ERP system.
Once you’ve settled into the role and built strong relationships, you’ll have access to a hybrid working arrangement, with flexibility to balance office and home days.
- Take ownership of monthly financial reporting across multiple entities
- Support and guide offshore Accounts Payable staff and local finance team members
- Drive system and process improvements through automation and technology (including ERP implementation)
- Deliver accurate reporting and analysis to support executive decision-making
- Prepare and review BAS, payroll tax, FBT, and compliance documentation
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, month-end journals, and variance analysis
- Partner with operational leaders to interpret results and identify improvement opportunities
- Act as 2IC to the GM – Finance, stepping up when required
About You
- CA or CPA qualified, with at least 2 years post-qualification experience
- Background in Big 4 or mid-tier audit, business services, or commercial finance
- Strong understanding of AASB/IFRS and Australian tax compliance
- Exposure to wholesale, FMCG, or retail industries highly regarded
- Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite experience advantageous)
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and confident in managing competing priorities
- A proactive mindset and a willingness to lead through change
