Join a new team in Financial Services Consulting
📍 Brisbane CBD (4-5 days onsite)
💼 Full-time – initial 6-month contract, ASAP Start
A great opportunity to join a new squad as part of Davidson Technology Consulting to work in a hands-on capacity and lead the implementation of an approved enterprise risk framework. We’re looking for a Risk Manager – Implementation Lead to stand up and embed the framework, drive delivery and meet Board-level deadlines.

The Opportunity
In this role, you will be the central coordinator and ‘go-to’ person for risk framework implementation. You’ll work closely with the CRO, ELT and line 1 leaders to:
- Translate the approved risk policy into practical procedures, templates, RACIs and job aids.
- Stand up and embed core risk components including:
- Risk Register
- RCSA
- Incident & issue management
- KRI and risk reporting
- Controls library
- Delegations of Authority (DoA)
- Own the delivery plan and cadence, removing blockers and coordinating 2 Risk Advisors.
- Produce concise, Board and ELT-ready reporting aligned to the organisation’s 5×5 matrix and risk appetite.
- Coach and support line 1 leaders to adopt new ways of working in a resource-constrained environment.
About You
You’ll balance strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, ensuring the framework doesn’t just look good on paper – it works in practice. As an experienced risk practitioner who is comfortable leading implementation in complex, regulated environments. You bring:
- 7–10+ years in Operational and/or Enterprise Risk, including end-to-end implementation.
- Experience in government and/or APRA-regulated organisations.
- Working knowledge of:
- APRA/ACRA concepts and standards (e.g. CPS 220).
- 5×5 risk matrices, RCSA, incident/issue management, KRIs, DoA.
- A track record of delivering under Board and executive scrutiny.
- Strong senior stakeholder management and the ability to influence without authority.
- Comfort with common GRC tools (e.g. Protecht, Archer, RiskWare) and practical reporting using Excel and/or Power BI.
- Demonstrated change adoption and light training capability – you know how to bring people on the journey.
- You’re pragmatic, outcomes-focused and able to quickly understand how the organisation works so you can implement solutions that stick.
