DAF was formed in August 2024 with a mandate to enable agriculture producers to grow their business and industry. The Chief Executive Officer will lead the Department to ensure the Territory’s reputation as a safe and quality agriculture producer through scientific research, biosecurity practices and compliance with animal welfare legislation. The Department also supports a great Territory lifestyle by promoting recreational fishing and works with Aboriginal ranger groups, commercial fishers, and the community to ensure sustainable fishery resources through effective management and regulation.
